The missed Mary

The Missed Mary emerged from questions about the nature of the experience of exploring the Bialowieza Primeval Forest. As an ecosystem, the forest is a dynamic entity and represents a vast network: a sensitive space where different elements communicate with each other. Everyone in their own way—scientists, politicians, environmentalists, and local residents—seeks to reclaim the forest. When I entered it, the entire forest made me feel like a disruptive element under the surveillance of its environment. Thus, when humans enter the forest, believing they can take it over, they become the subject of their surroundings.

Observatories, whether military, scientific or tourist, are a recurring feature of the landscape in this forest. Designed for the study of various phenomena, these structures demonstrate the importance of observation in cognitive processes.
